committing ficlets
Mar. 14th, 2007 03:15 amI have committed a ficlet...inspired oddly by a few clips I spotted in passing on youtube
Title: Looks and Glances
Rating: PG
Category: friendship
Pairing: Cameron/Sam
Warnings: none
Spoilers: none I can see (set mid S10 but no specifics given)
She sat there accross the table from him, just as she had a hundred other days. More really but the idea of counting them didn't appeal to her this early in the day. He looked like he hadn't slept well, none of them had really of late, too many thing on all their minds.
He caught the glance she gave him and tried not to let the noticing show on his face. He'd seen more and more often lately that she seemed to see, really see him as she hadn't before and this was lifting his heart.
She looked to Daniel doing the briefing being passed things by Vala who was looking just as tired as anyone but trying so hard to be an asset to the team now. Her almost loss of the man she loved (and tried to hide this from) had marked her soul but at the same time made her a better person in Sam's mind.
He watched her taking all this in for a long moment before his attention was captured by the notes and briefing Daniel was going on about, a new planet the Ori were working on and the possibility of a weapon against the Priors.
She saw in her mind the trails of alternatives and exceptions that could have been made, paths trodden and places they could have gone, and didn't. She wondered some days just how many alter realms there might be out there, and within this wondering how many of them she was his lover.
He spots the hint of a blush on her face and makes a mental note to himself to ask once they were done with the briefing, searching her eyes for a split second then going back to the task at hand, only to find Daniel was asking if there were any questions.
She stood once the briefing was done, no questions had come to her as her mind was so filled with other, less work like thoughts and she wanted to be away from here so she could deal wth them. These impulses were getting mroe commonplace and she was concerned that it might just be a bad move to act upon them.
He moves to follow her from the room, he knows the "rules" but she's worth it in his eyes, the spark he needs to keep moving and so on. Maybe he can think about devious ways to get her alone.
"Coffee Sam?"
"Thanks Cam"
