Cam grabbed the binoculars and peered once more carefully over the rise. Down below at the edge of the village he could see his team, SG1, with blades at their throats and a Prior with his damned staff weapon pointed at Sam. The only reason he wasn't down there was they simply hadn't caught him yet and he really did think it wise not to let that happen.
The trip thru the gate had been the easiest contact mission so far. Nice friendly natives no major issues not even an organised religion it seemed. They did the talk and meet and all the fun parts about wanting to stay but they had other people to contact, then headed back for the gate. Thats where the Priors men jumped them, scattering the team.
They ran, and the guards followed them several to each SG1 team member. One by one Cam had heard his people captured and one by one they were brought to this clearing. There seemed no rhyme or reason to it til...
"Cameron Mitchell you have ten of your minutes to give yourself up or the first of your team dies, a sacrifice for the Ori" The voice spoken loudly yet not, and the words echoed thru the trees to where he was hiding. Not like he believed this would happen but he felt it might be smart to move forward, less of a rush when the escaping from this bit was going to happen.
Cam was almost past the first ridge of trees and a good maybe mile from the clearing when he heard the sound. Not a staff weapon firing but something not human made and by the time he reached a place he could see unseen, the weapon sounded again and he arrived to see Sam fall to the ground and lay unmoving. Teal'c was already there and Cam couldn't see him breathe at all. Both Daniel and Vala seemed to be in shock as Sam had fallen at their feet. This was almost more than he could take. The instinct within him to rush forward and kill the prior was almost overwhelming but he resisted.
"Cam please come out or he swears he'll kill us all" Vala's voice held real fear in it and for a moment Cam moves to step forward before he hears another voice.
"NO Cam it's a trap run while you " The voice stopped as the sound happened again and the body of Daniel fell to the clearing floor, a second later followed by Vala's scream and a thump as she too sinks.
Cam by instinct began running forward with the guns ready to fire as the Prior turns and...
...his body jerked as he hit the floor having somehow managed to fall asleep standing up while waiting for the go on this mission.
